HORIZON ZERO DAWN, Sony’s new blockbuster PS4 video game, is here! And I can at last say that I am lucky enough to have composed some of the fabulous soundtrack! Invited by lead composer and old friend Joris de Man, I wrote and recorded the four choral tracks during the summer of 2016. Three are for men’s voices and are sung by the Mesa City priests during their sun worship rituals, and the fourth is for the three female singers at the Nora Festival. The entire four-hour soundtrack is now available on Spotify here. Have a listen!
Thank you Lucas van Tol at Guerilla Games for all your help, expertise and enthusiasm – it was fantastic to work with you on this amazing project! And thank you the terrific singers who brought my music and the musical world of Horizon to life…
Sopranos – Ana Beard Fernàndez, Elspeth Piggott & Lucy Cox
Tenors - Guy Cutting (soloist), Tim Ambrose, Jonathan Pearce, James Beddoe & Neil Malcolm
Basses – Daniel Tate (soloist), David Bannister, Tom Flint, Nico Ferrinho & Michael Geary

“From emotional scores to exhilarating jungle beats, Horizon Zero Dawn’s original soundtrack is not one to pass up.” http://uk.ign.com/videos/2017/02/28/how-horizon-zero-dawns-music-brings-its-world-to-life
The pleasure was all ours! Thank you for the beautiful tracks.
What an amazing sound track to an amazing game. Song to the Sun – Dawning (Part 3 – Onwards To Meridian) has become a favorite track of my girlfriend and I. The layers are just great, it reminds me of my male a capella days in college!
Dear Julien,
Thank your kind words! I’m thrilled that you and your girlfriend have been enjoying Dawning so much… 🙂 It was a great pleasure to compose and perform and to hear that you like it so much is just fantastic…!
Many thanks indeed for writing to let me know.
Jonny
Your choral pieces in Horizon are nothing short of amazing! I absolutely love listening to them. Stunning work!
Thanks Julie! Yes they were a treat to compose and perform and came out pretty well I think… 🙂
I just stumbled across Song of the Sun in-game and was enthralled! I wonder if the sheet music is available for purchase? I sing in a choir and I’d love to present it to our director as a possible men’s piece!
